Curable STDs

Curable STD's and non Curable STD's are very similar, just that curable STD's have treatments to cure the desease, while non curable diseases cannot be curerd with medicine. This does not mean that if you suspect you have a curable STD, you should take your time and get medicine because it can be cured whenever. Treatment is expensive and it is much better to treat an STD earlier rather then later, because as we all know, STD's can kill.

Here are a list of the most common Curable STD's with basic information about each.

Syphilis: Often been called “the great imitator” because so many of the signs and symptoms are indistinguishable from those of other diseases.

Symptoms: In the primary stage of infection, a chancre (small round and painless sore) appears and then heals. If treatment is not sought, the disease will progress into the secondary stage and rashes appear in different areas of the body. These, too, will heal, but again without treatment the disease will go into the latent or hidden stage where internal damage occurs.

Complications: In late stages, syphilis damages organs such as the brain, nerves, eyes, heart, blood vessels, liver, bones, and joints. The damage done to the body by this disease can cause death. There is also an increased vulnerability to HIV

Trichomoniasis: is primarily an infection of the genitourinary tract. It is the most common curable sexually transmitted disease.

Symptoms: Most men do not display symptoms, however they sometimes feel an irritation or burning in their penis after they urinate or ejaculate. In women the disease shows in the discoloration of their discharge as well as a strong odor.

Complications: Increased vulnerability to HIV if exposed.

Gonorrhea:
Caused by a bacterium that easily multiplies in warm, wet areas.

Symptoms: Men often show no symptoms, but swollen testicles or burning sensation while urinating may occur. Women may experience a burning sensation, but symptoms often are mild.

Complications: Untreated gonorrhea can cause infertility in women and epididymitis, a painful ailment that affects testicles and may lead to infertility, in men.

Chlamydia: A bacterial infection curable with the use of antibiotics.

Symptoms: Most women and about half of men infected show no symptoms. If symptoms do occur, they show one to three weeks after exposure.

Complications: If untreated, can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ectopic pregnancy and infertility. PID develops in 40 percent of women who have untreated chlamydia.Know the Facts and Stay Protected
